On Friday January 5th, The Pirates ran in the Mighty Explorers Challenge #4. This meet was hosted by North Stokes and was run at JDL Fast Track in Winston Salem. Julia Taylor received first in the Girls 500 meter dash along with the Girls 4x 200, 4x 400 and 4x 800 meter relays all earned 1st in their races. Jaedon Barnett got first in the Boys 500 meter dash with Naim Bradsher in 2nd and Isaiah Fisher in 3rd. Assad Alston got 1st in the Boys 55 meter dash, Cam Milroy got 1st in the Boys 1000 meter run AND Patrick Smith received 3rd in the Men’s long jump. The Boys 4x 200 and 4x 400 meter relay came in 1st along with the 4×800 meter relay coming in 2nd.
On Tuesday, January 9th the Pirates ran in the Southwest Guilford Invitational #2 hosted by Southwest Guilford High School. The Girls 4×800 meter relay got 3th overall, Sydney Deberry received 4th in the Girls triple jump and 4rd in the Girls long jump. Naim Bradsher got 3rd in the Boys 300 meter dash, Gabriel Warwar received 4th in the Boys 1600 meter run and Naseem Alston earned 3rd in the Boys 55 meter hurdle along with CJ Crump in 4th. The Boys 4x 200 meter relay received 2nd overall, Jeremiah Holloway got 3rd in the Boys high jump and Cody King got 4th in the Boys long jump.
