Women’s Soccer Season Kicks Off

The women’s soccer season has officially kicked off! With two wins and one loss, the varsity team is led by Salem Handy, Tatum Neff, Cameron Ringer, and Ashley Blum, the captains. There are a total of four freshman, two sophomores, nine juniors, and four seniors on the team. The junior varsity team has only played one game that was a tie against Northern on February 28. They have 12 games in the season, whereas the varsity team plays 19. The next games are on March 14 against Southwest. The varsity team has a game at 7:00PM, shortly after the junior varsity team finishes.

In the varsity’s first game, the team played Northern Guilford. Senior Tatum Neff scored the team’s three goals, but Victoria Moser and Salem Handy assisted. In the second game, Page went head-to-head against Mount Tabor. Ashley Blum scored one goal, Eleanor Enochs scored one goal, Rebecca Morrison scored one goal, and Tatum Neff scored two. In the most recent game, when Page battled Lake Norman, Page did not score any goals and were beat by one.

The junior varsity team tied Northern in their first game of the season. In this game, Northern scored two goals in the first half, and Page scored one. In the second half, the game went downhill for Northern when they did not score at all. Luckily, Page scored another point that tied the game up. The season ends in the beginning of May, so there are many more games to play for those interested in supporting the teams. More information, statistics, and results will come throughout the season too.
